Sometimes I get to hang out with some of my favorite people (looking at you, Britt & Kayla!). While visiting New Mexico, we went out and found some stunning vistas and did a double shoot. A set for a beautiful couple and a boudoir set (which is coming soon!). I seriously can not get enough of the beauty that is the mountains. There is something just so peaceful about the vistas. Even though New Mexico is not home, the views were nostalgic for me, so these images have a special place in my heart.
Although “boudoir” typically means “of the bedroom”, I personally think that the genre has evolved to mean more than that. When I think of boudoir photography, I think of images that make you feel beautiful, whether that is in a lingerie set, a cocktail dress, a sweater and leggings, or jeans and a tshirt. Ultimately, the point of boudoir is to empower you. It’s meant to make you see yourself in a different light. While “mom”, “wife”, “girlfriend”, “boss”, “coworker”, “sister”, “daughter”, etc. are ALL meaningful and special roles, we often forget that we are more than that. We are more than something to someone. We need to be something to ourselves, too. We need to own ourselves and remember that we are beautiful, powerful, impactful. We are desirable REGARDLESS of what is on our bodies.
This gorgeous girl wanted pictures for her college graduation that were casual, but still had an element of “oomph”!
The best part is having someone worth waiting for.”
I get some of the most stunning women in my studio. For real. And this sweet chickadee is a fellow military spouse. It’s always wonderful to run into a sane spouse (because let me tell you, they are few and far between, y’all).
Back in August I was able to make a trip to Del Rio (where D and I were stationed right after we got married) to do a boudoir marathon. It was a huge hit and our girls were absolutely stunners!
The hair styling skills of Nelda Negron and the Makeup Artistry of Veronica Stich made this the event of the year. The girls got to come in, get pampered, and get beautiful photos of themselves and everyone had a great time.
One of of our first girls was B. This girl completely rocked it out and I am so in love with the images we got from her session. Take a look!
Beauty photography is where my heart is at. I’ve been itching to kick off my boudoir/glamour photography here in Clovis and it is finally happening. Charlotte completely rocked it out and I’m so in love with the images we created last week!
I got my first swing at “Dude”oir this past week and I had a blast. It was fun to have his wife hanging out and cracking jokes while we took pictures of him for her. I say he looks John Cena-ish in some of these photos!
